School Murals and Workshops
The following represent some of the more than forty school murals
that I have coordinated. From fifteen to thirty students are involved
with each stage of mural design and realization, beginning with
developing themes, drawing up scaled designs, preparing the wall
surface and then painting the mural. From concept to completion,
projects take from twenty hours to several months to complete.
Most school mural projects are funded either through Artstarts
in the Schools or the Vancouver School Board's Artist in Residence
program.
Kid's Guernica is a portable, world-travelling children's peace
mural that involved more than 100 children, and was painted during
a three-day workshop in Richmond, B.C. 1997.
