Drydock

The hull of a ship in dry dock (North Vancouver waterfront) is both strangely incongruous and familiar. I wanted to depict it abstractly, so that it would feel like a sculptural installation, both a monument and a tribute to shipbuilding. The placement in the left side of the picture frame gives it a sense of enormity and isolation.
