Zaachila #2

Zaachila #2 is one in a suite of larger paintings that i am developing from my Mexico experiences. Using sketchbook and gouache studies as a starting point, i incorporated acrylic-stained and collaged canvas elements to evoke textiles, suggesting the culture of weaving and natural dyes traditional to the Oaxacan valley.
