Venice Series

A selection from a series of my paintings from Venice.

These works expand on previous works that explore the topography and mysterious nature of Venice; the omnipresence of canals and waterways and the rising tide levels.

I was astounded to learn that this city 'submerges and surfaces' annually. How does that affect the consciousness of Venetians? What does this mean for this stunningly evocative city that houses some of the world's greatest art?
